Held in Emma’s light-filled artist’s studio above an old chapel, In Bloom was a creative workshop designed to slow time and deepen connection. Across two intimate sessions, mothers and children were invited to step gently out of the everyday rush and into a space of presence, play and creativity.
We began seated in a circle, grounding ourselves with breathwork and reflection. Through guided drawing and shared words of appreciation, families dropped into a tender space of noticing and belonging. From there, we moved to the tables to explore colour, brushwork, and floral forms using artist-quality gouache. Each participant created a unique, joy-filled painting — a keepsake of a moment shared.
More than just a painting class, In Bloom was a ritual of togetherness. What unfolded was profound: laughter, focus, and a rare kind of calm. For many, the creative spark continued well beyond the studio, with stories of children and adults still painting days later.
This offering is part of the Slow Sundays series — a gentle invitation to pause, notice, and reconnect through art and ritual. More sessions will bloom soon.
